Facebookin’

I have a huge surge of excitement… not from training, but from FACEBOOK! Who knew that this crazy website, which allows you to connect with old friends who you may have lost touch with over the years, would bring so much joy into my life. Insane, madness!

At first, I was hesitant to “ask” someone who used to be my friend, to again be my friend on a website. This just sounds weird. I immediately regress to high school logic and think of the potential rejection. After a little pep talk from Alyssa and Missy, I gain some courage, bite the bullet and request old friends to be my friend again. So silly, I’m almost 35- come on!

I start to reminisce about friendships and old boyfriends and I bust out the photo albums. I cannot help but smile as I think about all the fun I had and I refuse to feel stupid for all the nonsense that was said or done. In my ripe old age I have come to terms with knowing no one is perfect and we all make mistakes. I have made many and hey, that’s my journey.

I’m so glad I kept the sticker that was on my first car, the random Budweiser bottle label, a sticky note Robbie left on my car window the night before I left for college, a postcard from spring break, my high school graduation invitation, and all the photos… the photos of friends and the places and houses we all lived in. I cannot help but feel blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life and friends that have been around through the ups and downs and many shenanigans. Just like I told Eben today… I have warm and fuzzies! All these great things are welcomed new thoughts during training for the next 9 weeks and 4 days.
